DOCENTS
Docents are volunteers who receive special training on the history of the house, including the design, stages of the construction and information about the artifacts and exhibits. The final outcome would to have you lead tours and assist in presenting educational programs. In this way, docents provide visitors with a greater understanding and appreciation of Huntsville and our rich history! They
communicate with people of diverse interests, backgrounds and ages and are encouraged to seek out information to answer questions!
DOCENT TRAINING INCLUDES
- The Historic Lowry House's history and mission
- Emergency procedures
- Staff members
- Different artifacts, photos
- The home's architecture and neighborhood history.
- Information is also provided on the museum's educational programs & presentation techniques.
